Hi,

I have been reading about the effects of marijuana (THC) on the immune system on different sites. I found that THC can depress the immune system, so tumors can grow more easely. Low levels of THC can inhibit tumour necrosis factor thereby weakening the killing activity of lymphocytes against tumour cells.

This is interessant because I've been smoking marijuana daily for 7 years and now I'm diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma. I don't know if this can be a reason for my disease, that's why I'm asking: are there other people here with the same background (marijuana use) or people who have more information about this subject?

It makes sense that if it lowers the immune system it would make it more probable that you would get it. It's not the root cause though, but you might not have got it without the pot smoking. I really don't think any cancer patients should be smoking anything.!

Thats really interesting info cause some of my doctors in hospital used to bring me in reefers to smoke as i was allergic to the only anti naesea meds at the ttime [maxalon and stemital]
It certainly helped with the sickness of chemo and helped pass the time in a go
od way, so who knows?
