Hi everyone-
I've been having some strange stuff happen. First, I'm a mom of 4 age 39. I've been having normal periods for 20+ years and then in June they all of a sudden stopped being normal. I would go for 45 days inbetween periods. In August I missed the whole month and then in September I started again wth my periods, very very heavy - amazing amounts of clots. I also have never had a period for more than 5 days. These new periods were lasting about 14 days. In October I started feeling nauseous all the time. I had some upper abdomenal aching as well as lower so I went to my GP. He did a blood test (looking for high liver enzymes for gallbladder issues) and found nothing. The nauseousness continued then one afternoon I was so so very tired. I laid down on the couch - after awhile I felt like I had to go to the bathroom - I stood up and I had a flood of blood. It felt like my water broke. I went to the bathroom and a lot of clots came out. I felt so much better after it happened and I had no more nausea. A couple days passed with no blood. Then the nausea came back and a couple more days passed and the flooding happened again. A couple days break, more nausea and again the flooding came. Since that last time, I've had the nausea and flooding almost every day. I went to the OB and he didn't question anything but wanted to do a uterine biopsy right then and there in the office. He had to fight his way through major clots but finally was able to pull out some tissue. He told me it would be about 14 days before he received results on Uterine Cancer. No maybe fibroids, maybe ovarian issues, perimenopause - just waiting for the results of uterine cancer. Well, as I wait, now I am going through outfits everyday because even the largest pads made won't hold this massive flooding I have. What should I be doing do you think? Does this sound like a typical Uterine Cancer that he would just want to biopsy right away right then and there? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I'm so scared and I don't know what to do as I wait for this answer of yes or no. And if he says yes, what do I do? I'm in the suburbs of Chicago - how do I find someone to help me?
Thanks so much
kelly

Hi Kelly:

Just notice your posting as I have not visited the forum for a while. Please let us know what your test reveal. I am not a medical specialist so I dont dare speculate, but I certainly wish and pray the best for you. As you can see from other postings on this forum, alarming symptoms as you describe do not always turn out to be cancer. I think its wise for this doctor to do a biopsy immediately to rule out serious causes such as cancer first; then explore it further.

Thanks for asking. I just found out that my uterine biopsy came back negative which I'm so thankful for. Dr. still doesn't know what is happening though so I'll be having a D&C and endometrial ablation asap to stop the bleeding. Hopefully that's all I'll have to do.
Best of luck and thank you.
Kelly
