Hi everyone,
My Mum had big bowel cancer op in August, right handed colectomy. Since then pain near her spine turned out to be more cancer. She had radiotherapy for this, but she has since been in a lot of pain. Consultants refuse to acknowledge that the radiotherapy could have led to this pain.
Her GP says it could be the nerves regenerating, which at least gives her a little hope. However, she is still in pain, despite taking Gabapentin, which is for nerve pain and also allegedly for depression. It also makes her have to rush to the loo, which isn't brilliant after having bowel cancer.
She has now had contact from a Macmillan nurse. The nurse is only suggesting Oralmorph which made her unbearably nauseous before. The anti-nausea pills didn't work. Obviously all these things, such as Oralmorph and Gabapentin, also make her drowsy.
My mum is phobic about needles and won't try acupuncture. The docs are now suggesting Gabapentin maybe with Paracetamol. Her GP says the Paracetamol won't even touch it.
Please please - are there some wonder drugs we haven't heard about?
Thank you, Belitacan |

Sorry, should have said, Tramodol and Fentanyl didn't suit her either. |

Since she has a problem with needles. Take a pill and knock her out (DO THIS AT THE HOSPITAL AND HAVE A REGISTERED PHYSICIAN DO IT) then give her a treatment. I'm not sure what though. I'm sorry. _________________ neulastainfo.com is a great help, thank you |

I'm very sorry to hear of your mum's pain and I wish there was something I could recommend. Have they tried morphine?
Love to you,
