Hello again,

After 18days at home getting more malnourished I go back to hospital hopefully to get all, or a huge chunk of my ascites drained out.

After a couple of 350ml attempts one of them using ultrasound guidance I finally get a score of 4 litres in one sitting out. The Dr obtained a better spot that any ultrasound by 'feeling/tapping' my belly for the best spot.

Meanwhile they a trying to restore my 'levels'. So I'm on a high protein diet and min. salt and taking lots of Sustagen type drinks as well as this horrendous tasting orange type drink called 'hepatamine'.

In a few days time they get another 3 litres of ascites 'juice'. The bulk in my belly does NOT indicate the recent loss of seven litres of liquid so there are lots to go.

The liver Dr in charge decides not to do any more draining, rather have my body 'naturally' rid itself of the ascites.

The pain of the ascites pressure in my recent scars continues to cause me considerable suffering. Yeah I have PK available but I keep on asking 'why isn't the ascites decreasing' after getting good sustenance and 'health care' for 10days day for this 2nd trip to hospital.

Further resections are "O U T.... OUT.. NEVER AGAIN..... I will give in first.

I need to get over this hurdle in order to make financial arrangements and etc so my wife and kids will be reasonably ok down the track. That means selling our present home and buying much cheaper to counteract monthly mortgage repayments. Good news is shortly after we bough this house there was a real estate boom which doubled to value of our house, the bad news is the boom is reversing.

Thanks
Stones

hi guys

sorry to butt in, I am the partner of someone with hcc. he has 9 tumours on his lungs from liver cancer and we have been told it is just a matter of time and not much of it.

Can any of you tell me where your husbands/wives/partners or relatives go to talk ?

You are all fantastic, just as my other is, keep on fighting, it may not work but it might make a difference

John
