It is good to be home again and back to routine activites. I loved the visit with granddaughter and her mom and dad, but there is no place like home.
I just wanted to welcome Madge and Susanp our newest board members (they posted to roll call). Sorry that you have a need to be in a place like this, but glad you found us. Pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable. This is a nice site with lots of good people. Dr. Leo is a wonderful resource as are the those who post. There is nothing like the voice of experience. Thanks for the welcome. One thing that I have learned over the past few months is that there are a lot of wonderful women who have been diagnosed. This board and others have been a great support. I am impressed that Leo, at the tender age of 27 had the inclination and sensitivity to start and support this board. Thank you LEO, your patients will be blessed because I can only imagine that you show even more caring in person. I know starting and supporting such and endeavor takes away from a very busy schedule.
Have a wonderful 2005 everyone. May it be filled with a wealth of health and happiness. _________________ Madge

I've been on other support boards before, but this one is by far the best. The support is sincere and there are no cat fights. I'm so glad I found this board and that everyone on here did as well. But...............LEO, there is NO need to tell us how old you are LOLOL After chemo and the surgeries, we feel older then we really are for awhile and then for you to tell us you are 27...... talk about kicking us when we're down............ROFL. You know I'm kidding.
When my nephew (21) saw my pink ribbon magnet on my car, he asked where I got it. He said he wanted to put one of his SUV. I have to admit that shocked me. I thought with him just turning 21 and hanging out with the guys, he'd get ragged about it by the ones that don't have a clue what it's for. He told me I was far more important then what anyone said and if they said something, he'd tell them why he had it on his car, because his aunt was dx with BC and wanted to let people know how proud he was of me for going through everything I went through because he didn't want to lose me. Talk about tears flowing. He's had it on for about a week now and everyone of his friends of course who I know, know what it stood for, but even the ones that didn't know me, knew what it stood for because of family members or friend's family memories. This disease has gotten so out of hand.
As usual, I got to rambling. Lucky for everyone it's time for All My Children, so I'm off to the t.v.

Thanks Lauri for the kind welcome. I hope to get to know everyone better over time and pick your brains. If I can be of any help to anyone I most certainly will throw my two cents in. For now, I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year! _________________ Take care,

Dear Madge and Susan,
WELCOME! I am also done with treatments. I'm 10 months out from finishing my rads. I think it's important for ladies to come back and show there is still good life after BC. I'm looking forward to getting to know both of you much better. Looking forward to your posts.
Nancy ~ LOL about Dr. Leo's age! That is too funny. Keep on rambling...it keeps the boards interesting and I enjoy listening.
Hugs,
Margie |

Hi Shelly,
I got a newsletter from Komen last week and they are selling them now, which is great because the money will go back into US and not someone making money off of us having this disease. Go to www.susangkomen.com and if they don't for some reason, let me know and I can give you some more sites.
Besides my family, I saw 2 other cars with the pink ribbons today and I just smiled. Not because either them or someone they love has been affected by the disease, but it feels like we're not sitting here doing nothing, we're letting people see that we are real people and we need a cure
Hugs my friend
