Hi All
I have just recently recieved my results of a biopsy that was taken 3 weeks ago and worst news, it is Malignant. I am going into hospital for a wider incision in 2 weeks and as you can imagine, anyone who has gone through this, it is really worrying. I would love to chat with anyone who has experienced the same kind of thing. I am a mum of 2 and have a wonderful supportive husband and work full-time and doing a degree and finding it really hard to keep it all going, so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

I was diagnosed with melanoma on the side of my nose in 1999. It came back one year later as a second primary (unrelated to the first one). Both melanoma's were cut out (wide area excision) with a sentinel node biopsy (make sure you ask your surgeon about this). At the time my oncologist did not recommend chemo or immuno or radiation as they felt they got it all and it had not spread. I was fine until Feb 2006 when it appeared in my brain. This stunned my dermatologist. I had it removed and went on chemo ( a pill I took 5 days per month) for 7 months and had Gamma Knife radiation at the point where my tumor was removed. Most doctors at this point gave me 6-12 months survival. I assume that meant reoccurance, additional chemo and radiation, then tumor comes back and you die. So far all my CT's and MRI's have been clean. I'm 46 and a male in Atlanta, GA USA with a history of several bad sunburns so I know how I got this disease.
The reason I am telling you this is that I believe I know now how to fight it. It take a radical change in your diet to accomplish this but I believe thru all my research that diet can affect your bodies immune system so that it cannot recognize cancer cells quickly enough to kill it. I have a document that I could email you that outlines what I have done. The first part lists the supplements that I am taking to supercharge my immune system followed by the research done on each supplement. The last part review some of the other changes I have made in my life to help. they include getting out of the toxins that are in everything from our drinking water to the soap we use, meditiation, exercise, EMF pendant or bracelet to minimize harm form electromanetic fields. email me at leecollieringa@yahoo.com and I will send you the document since I cannot attach it to this post.
Take a look at it and hopefully you can use some of the info to improve your chances which seem pretty good at this point. Based on what I read in your blog it seems they got it early. This works to your advantage so you should use it thusly.

Hi Lee
Thanks for the reply, you seemed to have gone through a pretty tough time and i feel for you. I do think i'm at an advantage as they have caught it early and reading your post seems quite spooky, as my husband is right into nutrition and he has told me it could have something to do with my diet, i'm vegie and don't really eat enough, hence i'm size 8 (British size!), so maybe i will look into your document and have a read.
It all seems very scary as you just don;t know what is around the corner, but roll on next week get this op over with and my second biopsy and hopefully get back on track. I don't know if you feel the same, but people tend not to react in the same way as if it was lung cancer, maybe people are not fully aware of the extent Skin Cancer can do if not caught early enough.
Anyway thanks Lee, i will email you regarding your document.

Hi Mich
Sorry to hear your news. I was diagnosed with melanoma 1 year ago, and I had to go to hospital to have a further area removed. It felt like my world had ended. I have been going for constant checkups every 3 months and so far so good, the site has remained clear.
I know how hard this time is but my advice to you is to stay positive and talk to friends and family no matter what is on your mind, don't be afraid of saying your worst fears, and make sure you ask all the questions that are on your mind . In my opinion, it is better if you share.
Consultants can come back with news that you rather not hear, put try and keep everything in perspective.
Don't forget, you have taken positive action by noticing the change and doing something about it. It has now been removed and the area cleared
Well done you, you should be proud of yourself.
Hang in there - just do one step at a time.

Hi Alison
Just to say thanks alot for your reply, it's just really nice to get in contact with someone who has gone through the same thing. It is just such a worrying time, especially getting another mole removed for biopsy at the same time as a secind op, but i will try and stay positive and will keep in touch with you if that's alright.
Thanks

Hi Alison
Thanks alot for replying to my post. It is really nice just to chat with someone that has gone through the same kind of thing and know matter how many people tell it's going to be okay, it's still a worry. I think i'm more anxious as i'm getting another mole biopsy on the same day as my second op. I will try and stay positive and i would love to stay in touch with you, just for a abit support.
Thanks Alison

Hi Mich
No problem, I understand exactly how you are feeling, it is a very worrying time. Hang in there lass.
My friends and family kept on telling me that it will be OKAY but I know that it kept on coming to my mind, 'how do they know ?' BUT so far they have been right and I try and do one step at a time.
Not sure when your op / second biopsy is - but wish you all the best.
Keep in touch and let me know how you go on.
