My mother had leiomyosarcoma tumor about 5 or 6 years ago. The tumor was removed and following that she had radiation treatment. A year or so passed and she started having trouble with her bowels. In the long run we found out her bowels had been burnt by the radiation and she had to have 8 inches of them removed. That has been two years ago and she is again having the same problem with either diaherra or constipation. Sometimes she gets constipated so bad she has to have a tube put down her to pump her out. All test show that everything is running through fine so we are back to square one again and don' know what to do to help her. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

lmhelms,
It sounds like you're mother will need further evaluation. It is possible that she continues to have radiation induced complications. She should work with your radiation oncologist and probably a GI doctor to figure out what is going on. Keep us posted. Good luck.
