My 46 yrs young brother - Mark - was diagnosed with inoperable GBMIV (brain cancer) in Feb 07. He went down hill very quickly with the tumour growing aggressively & putting lots of pressure on his brain. Many bad seizures & eventually loss of movement on left side. He had tumour debulked 6 weeks ago & Dr advised not able to take all of tumour & centre of tumour still alive & active. Mark hasn't been able to move his left side at all since debulking & has been bed / wheelchair bound. He has had no cancer treatment for 7 wks but prior to that had Temodal (tablet) & 2 1/2 wks of radiation. Last Thur MRI done & Mark told there is no sign of tumour. Dr has prescribed Temodal daily & another MRI in a month. Brother says he won't rejoice too much until 2nd or 3rd MRI all clear. We can't believe this outcome as his brain cancer is terminal. Don't know how long he will be in remission but we pray it will be for a while. Mark even showed signs of movement in his left leg on the weekend.....so his prognosis is definitely looking up at the moment. I wanted to share this story for those of you going through the worst of it at the moment. Our emotions since Feb have been rattled to say the least so we feel we have been blessed with the latest news for my darling brother - Mark. Cheers, Angie.

Angie, every time I read this message from you I rejoice with you. Unlike Mark, I know that 1 clear MRI does mean a lot! Like Mark, I am suspicious that the cancer will return. However, 1 clear MRI at the very least means you have more time to enjoy. How long? I do not really know. But do enjoy it. When he does finally die, it is the memories (good and bad) that will make you a stronger person.
