Hi, im new to this site. My mum has stage 3 breast cancer and has gone through 3 fec chemo already. She was suppsed to have another 3 Taxotere but took an extreme reaction to the first dose and was seriously ill in hospital, so shes back on the fec for 3 more, followed by 29 sessions of radiotherapy.
Do you have an idea/knowledge of the likely outcome? Im so scared as the docs arent saying much.
She had the lump plus all her lymph glands removed. x

Hi tulip,

I am so sorry that your mother has this terrible disease!! I can certainly understand your fear. Her medical team will be better able to answer your question. Insist on it. It is your mother right to be fully informed before making any decisions.

I will keep you and your mother in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Tulip,

I was dx with Stage III Invasive Lobular BC on 2/14/02. I had just turned 43 and had a 5.5 cm tumor and 9+ nodes positive for cancer (whole bio at the bottom). I had 6 rounds of FEC and rads, along with a mastectomy. Since ILC is prone to spread to the other breast, I had a mastectomy on the non cancer side a year later. It's been 5+ years and I'm sure here and doing great. I don't know all the info about your mom's pathology report of course, but Stage III is definitely not a death sentence.
