HI everyone i just found out that my grandmother has cervical cancer on friday and it was a shock to everyone. We also discovered that she has been smoking for 12 years since my uncle (her son) died and has not gone to the doctor every year. Needless to say i was angry and sad at the same time. I was wondering how to cope with this new disease that she has. If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it. As well what should i do now that my grandmother has cancer to lower my risk of getting it? Sad

Sorry about your grandmother. You can now be vaccinated against Human Papilloma virus, which is the cause of most cancers of the cervix. Talk to you doctor.

Hi, All. I'm new to this- so bear with me. Razz

Sorry about your grandmother. I have had alot of things happen to me (broken back, nose cancer) And now maybe Lymphoma. - Also, Cervical Cancer at a high level. So if need to chat then i'm pleased to.

The best way to prevent, is to have vaccine and also have regular pap smears. Yearly if it eases your mind.
