Hi
I'm elijah and I'm 17 years old. I'm at the moment in the hospital receiving my first session of chemo.
So far the side effects have been pretty rough, but i guess they are for everyone.
So i wondered if there are more people here who also have/had All?
I'd love to just talk with someone, online that is, like on this forum or something.
So far they gave me about 40 % chance of beating this, i thought that was pretty low. But i guess it's different for everyone.
Also there are supposed to be huge differences between adults and children and then I wonder what am I? Or am i somewhere in the middle, not really a child, not really an adult either.
My dad died of cancer too a couple years ago, so for everyone it's extra hard.

Hey Elijah,
I just joined The Cancer Forums today and saw your post.
I was diagnosed at age 27 with ALL. Which many people and doctors thought strange because I was so old. However, when they found my Leukemia I was in the final stages and the doctors told my wife they would give me 30 days to live. They said if the Leukemia dosn't kill him the chemo could because of all the many drugs and high doses so fast. I was under a voluntary new protocol which I am followed all my life but I had to undergo 6 years of chemotherapy. Which as I understand it from one of the Oncologist I have seen is virtually unheard of today. Nonetheless I am not 46 years old. I have never relapsed either.
Hang in there! You can beat this and live a happy life. Remember to enjoy everyday... on the rough days just remember they will pass!
