Hi,
A Friend of mine just got diagnozed with MM, he's only 33, a very rare case. what do you say, and how do you encourage people with cancer? Sometimes you just feel lost. He keeps his daily journal at http://www.thewalkbeside.com/ but how people with MM actually feel?

Thanks.

Hi Ireallywantone
You dont have to say anything you just be the friend you have always been, that is encourging enough and you be as positive as you can. I read your friends journal and his prognosis sounds good, not that i am any expert on the subject, although i read as much as i can. He sounds like an Aussie on his tape. I wish your friend and you health and happiness for the rest of your lives.
Love Shaz.

Hello, I am sorry to hear about your friend who has just got diagnosed with MM at the young age of 33. I am fighting MM myself and was diagnosed with a very advanced case of it in dec 2005' at the age of 38. I have been through chemo (vad) and a stem cell transplant, which was from my own stem cells....luckily the transplant worked. I was in remission for 15mths and it has come back again, but only 5-10% in my body and they are treating me now with thalidomide, which is appearantly bringing my bad protiens down...so it is slowly working, which is great.
I wish your friend Cam all the best with his journey and I would also like to add that I feel he should take things as easy as possible...I used to play alot of board games and cards in my spare time to keep my mind occupied and I think it worked well. Please let him know that if he would like to write to me for any reason my email is tracey_313@msn.com.

Good Luck

Hi guys, I don't know what has happened to ireallywantone. I see that the link to his friend's blog still works hand that it is up-to-date. But this topic is an older one... started in July 2007. You are welcome to continue your dialogue here if you wish... I just do not know if you should expect any of the original posters to reply.

Trace, I am very sorry about your MM. My only experience with MM is indirect... my ex father-in-law had it for several years. The chemotherapy made him so very weak that he eventually died of complications. He was in his mid 60's when diagnosed. My ex FIL found out about his MM when he broke his arm lifting my daughter to his lap Confused

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
