Complicated question to answer having so little specific or detailed information about it. Mostly, it depends on its location. Are you asking for yourself or for someone else? The best source for the answer to your question is the medical team that diagnosed the GBM.
By the way, are you sure it is a GBM Grade 3? I do not think I have ever heard of anything but a GBM Grade 4... although being that small (about 0.5 inches if my memory is correct) it might be a Grade 3. How was it detected? I assume it has been biopsied if not totally resected?
Give us some more information so we can give better answers. _________________ Jim

Sandi80, I am so so sorry about your diagnosis . A grade IV GBM is about the least successfully treatable cancer I am sorry to say. Many are inoperable by the time they are found. Count yourself fortunate that they where able to remove most of it. What chemotherapy have they used? Have they talked about radiation therapy yet?
My mother died of a Grade IV GBM only 2 months after diagnosis. However, her tumor was inoperable and she elected to not take any form of treatment. Her prognosis was not good from the beginning so I think she made the right decision. You will most likely need to make a decision as to further treatment as well. Here as some issues you should ask your medical team about:
1. What is the prognosis with treatment? Without treatment?
2. What will my quality of life be like during treatment?
3. Is there any chance that treatment can put my cancer into remission or is this only intended to give me a few more weeks or months of life?
Then talk with your family and close friends.
A grade IV GBM is very dangerous and where appropriate should be treated very aggressively. My thought and my prayers are with you. Keep us informed. _________________ Jim

Dear Sandi, So sorry to hear your diagnosis. You need to remain positive regardless of what you hear from others. Just tell youself you're going to beat if - I know this will seem hard 4 u to do with so much doom & gloom, but rise above it. You need lots of support from yr family & friends so don't be frightened to lean on these people more than u would like. My bro has GBM IV & was diagnosed in Feb 07. He's 46yrs young. It's a devastating disease but there are survivors. Bro has had Temodal & Radiotherapy, Craniotomy early May & a clear MRI in June. He has had follow up MRI this week & we are waiting (impatiently) to get the result early next week. Bro's tumour was Posterior R Frontal Lobe tumour, which was under 1cm when 1st diagnosed. Thinking of you & prayers for u. Remember...stay positive. Cheers, Aussie Angie. _________________ Brother has GBMIV
