Hi Leah, I do not know exactly what "this" is or what it means. I assume you are speaking about the surgeon calling you to come back? I further assume that the reason he called is to discuss the biopsy finding and further plans as needed. Abnormal cells is a pretty vague description. It could be anything and at this point it is not helpful to speculate. Obviously, with your family history, it is possible that this mass could be cancerous. But I would wait until I spoke with the surgeon before coming to that conclusion. My thoughts and my prayers are with you. Keep us informed. _________________ Jim

Hi,
Is your surgeon saying it's cancer or B9? Abnormal cell findings seems vague at best. I would call and ask exactly what he found. What is he saying you should do?
I had both breasts removed at 43 and I've never regretted it. There are much worse things then having no boobs!!!!!!
Please let us know when you talk to your surgeon and I'd be talking to him ASAP. Please, don't let him do the, let's watch it for 6 months thing. _________________ Nancy

Thank you for the info .To tell you a bit this.I went to my regular doctor for a exam he spotted a lump in my left breast. He then sent me to have a mammogram done this was when something was spotted. The doctor that performed the mammogram requested that a ultra sound be done.Went had this done went back to my docs and requested to speak with a surgeon (due to my family history)he was not wanting me to do this as he felt it was just a B9 cyst.At my insistence he gave in and referred me to Doctor Morey here in Port Huron.Doctor Morey then performed the biopsy herself and that is when i got a call back to come back in due to abnormal cell findings is what i was told .
If i had listened to my regular Doctor and not gone it would have been another year of waiting and wondering.I am glad that i stuck to my gut instinct and went forward with seeing the surgeon.I see her in fact later today .Got a call to come in at 1 twenty.
Thank you for listening.

I am SO glad you went with your gut. I could feel my lump and so could my PCP, but my mammogram showed NOTHING and my ultra sound was read to say it was 2, 1cm B9 cysts. I didn't know at the time that no doctor can tell if something is B9 or cancerous without a biopsy, but my gut still didn't set right. I called a surgeon myself and had a biopsy done. Thank God I did. As you can tell by my bio, if I had waited a year, I wouldn't be here today. I had NO family history of any kind of cancer and I was "young" according to the doctor......... age doesn't mean squat and family hx in many doesn't play a factor, but with your hx, I'm SO glad you went and told them what you wanted done.
Please let us know what your surgeon says. _________________ Nancy

|
Yes i did go back and see my surgeon again .The fluid biopsy that she did showed some funny cells in my left breast where the bigger cyst are.Tomorrow morning i am scheduled for surgery to go in take this cyst out and see if indeed it is cancerous. She called it a needle biopsy with mammagram help.Basically what i was told is i will be sent down for a ultra sound first that will pinpoint where the cyst is then a thing that looks ind of like a wire will be inserted into where the cyst is taped to hold in place then once it has been pinpointed i will go in for the surgery to have it removed.Said i will be in pain for a few days no heavy lifting .
So now it is just a wait and see kind of thing .Hubby took the day off of work to go with me .take care of me afterwards .which i think is sweet of him.
Kind regards ,leah

Hi Leah,
As soon as you feel up to it, let me know what the biopsy shows. I didn't have the kind of biposy you're talking about, but I have heard of many that have had it. I was just a little sore when they cut me open for the biopsy which ended up actually being a lumpectomy, so you shouldn't be more then sore. That's what I've heard from others too.
Please know you're in my prayers and I'm praying for B9 results.
I don't remember if I have my e-mail addresses marked on this or not, but if you want to talk and I don't, send me a PM and I'll give it to you. _________________ Nancy
