I am a 48 yr female - have not had a menastral cycle for over 2 years now - went to the doctors with heartburn, nausea, lower abdominal pain - and pain in the osophagus when swallowing was sent for a ultrasound -

Went back to the doctors and he just handed my a referral to see a Gyno - have booked appt - but can't get in until 06 Sept. My doctor gave me no indication about the results and I am really worried - Please help

Ultrasound results read as follows:- The central endometrial echogenicity is inhomogeneous with several nonshadowing echogenic areas that may reflect enlarged mucous gland. No fluid or other endometrial abnormalities were seen. In the left adnex related to the ovary there is a large mostly cystic lesion 6.7 x 5.0 x 3.7. A small 11 mm solid nodule is noted as its periphery and is appears hypervascular. As a result, a complex cystic ovarian mass lesion is suspected and histological evaluation indicated. No other ovarian or adnexal abnormalities were see.

Thank you

Just my two cents worth deedee, but a month does seem like a long time to wait to have this "thing" checked out. It sounds like you need a "histolocial evaluation: (i.e. a biopsy) to know for sure what this is. Call the doctor's office and see if your GYN can see you sooner. Play the "I'm in pain" card if necessary.

I will be thinking about and praying for you. Keep us informed.

With no fluid present, it sounds like it's NOT ovarian cancer, but I'd love to hear what happened at your appointment...
