Although I have personally not had blood clots, my father did. What can happen very much depend on the size of the clot and its location. A clot in the lungs can kill a person very quickly. A clot in the heart can cause a heart attack or even death. A clot in the brain can cause a stroke or, again, almost instant death. A clot in the kidneys can lead to kidney failure or renal insufficiency. However, since we have two kidneys, death due to a blood clot in the kidney is less likely to cause a fast death. You ask specifically about a clot in the brain, if it does not cause death of a major stroke, it will still do damage to that area of the brain. The effects just depend on what area the clot is in.

Sunshine, have you or someone you love experienced a blood clot to the brain?

I assume you when you say "treatment", you are referring to surgery.
It would be hardly unlikely that bleeding and/or blood clot would result from chemo or radiotherapy.
It also depends on the type of tumour. For instance oligodendrogliomas have more of a propensity to bleed, as they have an affiity for, and adhere to and attach to blood vessels.
My wife experienced a severe haemorrhage on the operating table, and almost died on the table. She was placed in an induced coma for 24 hours.
She has been left with some bi-frontal lobe deficits as a result. (Mainly related to reduced motivation and productivity).
Any surgery has the risk of a haemorrhage and/or blood clot, so it is up to the individual to take that risk.

Hi sunshine, has this person seen a doctor about the clots yet? I cannot over stress to you how dangerous they can be.
