My dad had a successful whipple surgery for Pancreatic Cancer back in June of this year. Everything is going good so far. He is currently undergoing chemo and is at the point where he will soon need radiation. He is seriously considering opting out of radiation treatment. His frame of mind is if it is working - don't change anything?

Any thoughts?

Pancreatic cancer is one of, if not the hardest cancer to treat and has a very low survival rate. I would take everything the onco suggests to try and keep the cancer from spreading and/or coming back.

I agree, it's not worth it.
Have all and more of what the Dr's say to do- give it the best shot at working and healing and beating this thing.

Hello

This is a really difficult situation, and it's true that pancreatic cancer is indeed a very difficult disease to treat. I can't tell him what to do, but have this conversation with his doctor and explain his feelings. So the doctor can explain the risks and benefits a bit more, and he can make the decision with more confidence.

best
Leo
