Hi ppl My name is Gilbert Im from Malta

A few days ago I mentioned about my strange looking mole I have on my chest . The mole was there since i was a child but since a few months ago I noticed that it has a brownish pigment around it .

The mole is still looking the same as it was . It didnt get larger or changed its colour. The mole doesn't hurt me , itch me or bleed. Is it Strange??

Can Anybody help me please out there cause im going kinda freaky!! looking at it everytime in the mirror.

I went to 2 good dermothologists here in malta . They saw my mole visually and they said its a benign mole , nothing to worry about!!

I still insisted the doctor to do a biopsy test of the mole but he insisted and continued saying its nothing to worry about.

Now after a lot of fighting ....Im going to do the Biopsy next week

Can anybody say something about my topic pls help me cause im going out of my head!!!!Sad(((

Thanks
Gilbert

Well the dermatologist could be right or could be wrong but it doesn't change the fact that they shouldn't have be denying you the right to take it off, since you want it off. After all the patient is the customer. I would just go to another derm if this one won't do a biopsy. The derms should have taken it off in the first place if they thought you were concerned enough about it, which I think you are.

1 When they had been brought safely through then we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The natives showed us extraordinary kindness; for because of the rain that had set in and because of the cold, they kindled a fire and received us all. Acts 28:1-2
What a neat plan to live!
In the US, I find that the dermatologists whom I've seen are in agreement with me regarding removing suspicious growths and moles anywhere, inside and out, of your body. If there's a question, then cut it out. There's a saying, "When in doubt, cut it out." I don't know if you have insurance or not, but either way, have the mole removed, not scrapped or burned...ask them to surgically cut it out and get good margins. With melanoma. at no time should one take a wait and see approach. No one knows for sure that a growth is melanoma or not, until it has been biopsied in a laboratory. This decision his will probably cost you money, time, and scar tissue. If you don't have it removed, you'll continue to worry. No matter what the outcome...try to take one day at a time...it's all we can do. Yesterday is past, and tomorrow is unreachable.
Just do today. And most importantly, ask God to walk you through this. He Will. (Now, for all this wonderful information, please send me a jar of your mother's spaghetti sauce : )
Sincerely, Barbara

Gilbert, In my last post-what I intended to say was that Malta must be a nice
place to live.
Go to the MPIP.org ( Melanoma Patients Information Page) bulletin board and ask your questions. The bulletin board site is: http://www.mpip.org/bb/bbindex.html
There are several people there who are very knowledgeable and willing to answer your questions.
The blood test can not determine that your mole is a melanoma. Have the doctor cut out your mole, send it to a lab and have it biopsied.
Sincerely, Barbara

I think it can be suggested from blood tests, primarly in stage IV. As far as a melanoma that hasn't metastasied, no.

Hi Gilbert,

It looks like we maybe in the same boat. I just had a suspicious mole removed from behind my knee. It was a new mole, but formed a light brown halo around it.

I also have an enlarged lymph node on my neck and my dermatologist is sending me for a CT scan tomorrow morning.
