what about our avatars on this new design project? will we have to keep these dorky cartoon ones and the one breast cancer ribbon? or will we get new options, something that fits us a little bit better? i've tried everything i can but i can't find any links to any other cancer type ribbons except mine and i sent that one to you already but i gather that didn't work out so well. i hate to be a pain in the rear about this, it's just i can't stand our avatar choices on here but i need this forum. i have no one else to talk to about what we all have in common and can relate to outside of this forum. well i guess i've whined enough, i'll take some cheese with that to go. with all my love, Kat

I have already passed this suggestion on to Leo and he said it was a good idea. I have found .jpg versions for many ribbons, including cervical cancer. However, I do not expect that we will be able to upload them until the new forum comes online sometime next year (2007 is almost gone Shocked )

It is better than just a "chance". It is a very high probability Wink

I do not want to answer that question now because we need to look into the issue of "member's" abusing that and uploading inappropriate avatars. But we can talk about it. That is an option on the new program as it is on this one.

ok really stupid question here but, what do you mean inappropriate avatars? what kind of avatars were considered inappropriate and caused this problem for others to use personal pics or whatever for avatars? ok another stupid question, what possesses people to post inappropriate " stuff " in the first place? when it comes to anything else ask me and i more than likely know the answer but when it comes to this ; duh clueless!!

It's not just that people are stupid and they visit sites to SPAM them, they actually take the time to write programs that crawl around and look for sites to abuse. I have a site that is for a religious display at Christmas. I finally had to shut the guest book area down because I just couldn't keep up with all the filthy things that were being posted. People weren't actually visiting there and posting them, they let the programs they wrote do it automatically. It is very discouraging.
