Rolling Eyes Can anyone tell me what to look for or if it is something to wonder about if a mole is changing? A mole on my lower right arm, pretty small, was dark in color, like dark brown, has like flaked off and now is red around it now and looks like a small blood spot clotting up. Is this weird or am I being pariod? Thanks

Hi Gordy,

Until Dr. Leo or Dr. Jay get here....

From what I've read, any change in a mole should be checked by a doctor. You are not being weird or paranoid.

Good luck,

Margie

Gordy

You should be looking for the ABCDs of skin cancer:

Asymetry
Asymmetry can be assessed by comparing one half of the growth to the other half to determine if the halves are equal in size. Unequal or asymmetric moles are suspicious.
Border
If the mole's border is irregular, notched, scalloped, or indistinct, it is more likely to be cancerous (or precancerous) and is thus suspicious.
Color
Variation of color (e.g., more than one color or shade) within a mole is a suspicious finding. Different shades of browns, blues, reds, whites, and blacks are all concerning.
Diameter
Any mole that has a diameter larger than a pencil's eraser in size (> 6 mm) should be considered suspicious.

anyway, if you are not sure about a skin lesion, you should see a physicians.

regards,
leo

I have deleted several replyies to this topic because they were off topic and involved alternative treatments. If you wish to continue to discuss that treatment, please, use the alternative treatment forum. Thank you.
