OK, so now I'm an experienced user,
I better start making all my posts count as I move closer to Inica in total posts, lmao,
Appointment Tuesday with the Radiation Oncologists to plan my WBRT!
I'm nervous, which doesn't usually happen to me, but this seems to worry me more then anything else,
Wish me luck! _________________ Can miracles happen?

Thanks Inica and everybody else!
Update:
I'm currently staying in a hotel, down by the hospital going through my WBRT. I've had 2 treatments and will continue until Wednesday, then back again on Monday thru thursday to finish up the 10 total treatments.
So far, not so bad. Just some really minor stuff. I got a headached the first night and the second night my jaw line, from my ear down was soar on touch, I have no idea what that's all about but it went away.
I am taking steroids, 2 a day, dexamethasone??spelling, and it makes me really hungry, lol, ! I guess it works out because the chemo makes you not so hungry. Kind of a balance.
I will keep the updates coming as I fight these aliens out of my body.

Sodapop, in the house!
I just would like to say that I can feel some miracles floating in the air! I'm going to grab one while they're still floating around.
Thanks for witnessing this, _________________ Can miracles happen?

I'm so sorry to hear that!
I wonder why they wouldn't try Interleukin-2 first, or Chemo if that doesn't work? Have they mentioned that at all? If those don't have any results, then clinical trials. Did they mention any particular trial?
WBRT is whole brain radiation treatment.
You're in my thoughts and prayers now, this is a horrific disease, and we need to fight it all the way.
Ask your Dr. why he/she doesn't want to try Interleukin-2 or Chemo. The Chemo is doing well for me.
I hope this helps. _________________ Can miracles happen?

No they said they want to use chemo as a last resort didnt mention Interleukin.. The trial they want to put me on has 2 drugs one
which is a manufactured antibody and the other which has been shown to boost the immune system.....
I did try radio wave therapy but have to wait till mid dec for my results which is a bit of a bummer but its not to far away now |

The drug that supposed to boost immune system is probably Interleakin-2, sometimes called Aldesleukin and/or Proleukin. It's used in a lot of trials combined with an antibody like you said or treated White Blood Cells in the lab that they put back into you to help fight the tumors.
What was the radio wave therapy all about, I haven't heard that on yet.
Let us know how it goes. _________________ Can miracles happen?

sodapop, it is also called Radiofrequency Ablation. An electrical current at high frequency (around the frequency of a radio) is passed through the tumor. It supposedly cooks the tumor. I have only heard of its successful use with liver cancers although I do know that research is currently underway to see if it helps with breast cancers and other cancers as well. _________________ Jim
