ok, i have heaps- weird and funny family.
We lived in a old old house, like i think 130 years, (old for a Aussie house) anyway- It was double brick and had a prodector room.
(A room that is tripled bricked and has a tiny glass window. About 12 Inches long, 5 inches hight, in the wall.- for the projector to go through other room)
Anyway, I was about 8 years old, little brother was around 6 or so. We decided to put a hole- finger size in mum's good tapastry hanging (over the window) to see Santa....Well. Not only did we not see santa, but we had red bums too. PLUS- our presents wern't there.
So we cried and cried, then started to fight with each other. Till we noticed the presents in another room. Needless to say- never have done that again. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

Ok - then this is going good I see.
Ummm, lets see what other story I can remember.
Ok..... The year my Mum got shot in the butt (i was going to leave this one till later- but I see I ned to use it now.)
We used to live on a property, and it was overun with wild pigs/boars. My dad and his friends used to shoot them/ or trap. One unusually cold-freezing Christmas, we had a really bad one that was ripping up harvest, fences, and even killing stock. (Aussie wild pigs can grow huge- I've seen alot of pictures where they have been the size of small cars!)
Anyway dad had been out trying to trap/or shoot- which ever came first. He strolled in was so cold turned the little bar heater on and started tucking into dinner. My Eldest Brother- little at this time, saw a handful of used shells and was playing with them on the floor- (mum hates this, as you can inmagine) - Well ,-all was quite, sitting around the table when !!!!!!!BANG!!!!!- and then a scream. My Brother had found a live bullet and it had rolled under the heater....It warmed up and let fly....In my Mum's butt.
Didn't break the skin- but how many of you can say- "my mum got shot in the arse from my brother" ?
. Well- in Australia anyway. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

One Year- i think i was in early teens. My dad got suckered into being the Santa at my mum's work- A christmas party for underprivaledge children/foster/group homes/ or children of Jail, or drug dependent parents.
Well, all was going ok, till this preteenager (long black hair, black clothes, looking tough etc) walked up to dad, and said "What are ya goin to do Gramps? If I pull ya beard off you and tell all the kidies that Santa is dead? "
Dad, as he pulled this kid by the ear to his lips, said " Listen here Punk- You wouldn't dare, because no one here will stop me from kicking your arse al the way from here to the north pole!". Needless to say, this kid took off all embarrassed, when Santa said "what does a naughty, ungrateful CHILD get from Santa????? Thats right NOTHING. "
It was funny to find out what dad had said to this teenager to make him red and run.
It is so sad, that out of all these children, only a half a dozen out of the hundreeds would say thankyou. Or play, not break, the presents. All families recieved blankets household items and food etc.
Alot of the parents wanted to know could they swap them for smokes or trade....
The ones you try to help the most- never seem to deserve it. _________________ Thinking of you Inica

At Christmas time, my mother would always be the one shopping for everybody and of course I was always the nosy girl, just HAD to know what I was getting for xmas (after I found out there was no Santa).
My mom gave in when I was in my teens and would always bring me shopping with her and I would wrap my own xmas presents, but definitely couldn't get them until xmas morning.
One xmas morning our half sister (she was around 6 or 7) came to stay with us to celebrate, and of course, it had to be the time my mom and dad forgot to put out the presents from Santa! I found this out because I woke up way earlier to see if they put them out and had to go wake them up and help them put the presents under the tree before my lil sis woke up.
I know the Holidays are going to be hard for everyone here, especially losing a loved one, share some stories, it might help a little. |

One from this year- My son lovvvvves balls, cars, bikes- well pretty much anything.
He recieved this cool bike to ride on. It is one that he has at daycare and loves. Well he was all "WOW" and jumping up and down, all excited. He was showing everyone the box it was in, "look bike!! " and clapping hands.
I had the video camera on filming him, so it was my husband he was hounding to open the box...WELL- you should have seen his face, they opened the box to find the bike in bits. He was sooo upset. crying and saying the bike was broke. It was hilarious to see his face. Everyone had tears of laughter watching his face.
Got home to tape the camera tape on a disc- and all you could see was the camera jumping around- i was laughing so much
(Santa's belly- like a big bowl of jelly) _________________ Thinking of you Inica
