But here I am. I don't know anything about cancer. I have a brain tumor, so I'm learning, and my grandmother died of uterine cancer back in 1989. I go in for surgery in January, but not on my brain.
I have a problem with my abdomen that we aren't sure about yet. It seems to deal with my reproductive organs as well as some others. I really don't know what is causing this, but we've ruled out any previous infection.
About 4 or 5 years ago, I began bleeding..nonstop. It was as if I were on my period, only heavier, and it lasted for 6 months or longer at one time. I went to the doctor, who told me it was probably endometriosis..and prescribed birth control pills. Well, that didn't help, and so on went another 2 years with severe bleeding and a horrible pain under my right ribcage. It felt as if there were a knife in me.. Well, for some reason, my symptoms weren't believed, and sometimes the bleeding was so bad that I had to go to the emergency room. They noted that I seemed to be a "medication seeker" because they could not pin point the source of the pain.
Finally, after almost 3 years of horror, My obgyn reluctantly decided to do a laproscopy, thinking still that it was probably only endometreosis, and he would remove that tissue. Well, when he finally got to doing the procedure, it was discovered that my organs were fused with a massive amount of adhesions, and my ovaries were actually pinned to the back of my uterus. He said he had never seen anything like it. My mother had the same thing...she died of liver failure. We don't know if the two are related. Well, thanks to the wonders of ultrasound, I am going in again, to have fibroids removed that showed on the ultrasound, as well as more of the adhesions (they told me that they were two different things, but I thought they were the same)
I'm grasping for straws..and I know I'm sort of airing out my dirty laundry, but seriously, I want to know if anyone here has had these symptoms. I go for surgery in the middle of next month..and I guess you could say it's getting to me.
See, my dad is a chiropractor, and his practice was right underneath where my family lived. We lived above the office, where an x-ray was run every day. I wonder if all that radiation even could have messed with me.
Either way, I'd appreciate any input.. thank you so much

Hi Noid, I am so sorry to hear that you will have surgery in Jan. It must be frightening not to know the cause of your current health problems... on top of your brain tumor.
I would not imagine that much, if any, radiation reached you. X-rays cannot go very far and are easily blocked.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

At least you are a step further in knowing what is going on and getting treatment- Not what you want to hear- i know.
But stay positive, and be the strong person i know you are. _________________ Thinking of you Inica
