My elderly aunt that I take care of had a sore removed from the top of her head the beginning of October this year. The dr. said it was basal cell, but when the lab report came back it said there was no cancer. It starts to heal nicely, but then my aunt will scratch at it at times, and it reopens it. I don't know if she is keeping it open by scratching or it just isn't healing. I put neosporin on it, and diluted apple cider vingar to clean. I left it alone for a couple weeks, because i thought that it might help it just to leave it alone. It looked really good I thought it was gone. But then today it is red kinda shinny, and was bleeding a little. I don't know what else to do the dr. said just try to keep her from scratching it and keep putting the ointment on it. I can't watch her 24/7 that she doesn't touch her head I mean most times I do, but she scratches in her sleep also. Could it still be cancer? She doesn't have diabetes or anything. Is there anything I can put on it besides what I am? When should I worry how would I know if there was infection? My uncle put some nuskin on it today to see if that might help. What can I do at this point?
