Hello all,

I am in a little bit of a dilemna. I recently had a mole removed on the right side neck near my collar bone area. I just received a phone call from my doctor telling me that it is just a superficial skin cancer and that he got it all. I have had 3 other moles removed over the last 4 years and they were all okay. The day after I had the mole removed (just 1 1/2 weeks ago) I began getting what looked like a rash. Within 2 days what I thought was a rash turned into little liquid-filled bumps and they were all over my hands, arms, and a few on my chest and back, but promarily on the left side of my body. I immediately called the doctor went back in to see him. He told me that it was a "viral explosion." I do not know what to believe. They are now starting to "dry" out, but the redness and bumpiness is still there. They ITCH like crazy from the moment that they showed up until now. Are they really just a "viral explosion" or are they related to the skin cancer?

Hello

I am not sure what he meant by a "viral explosion", but it can be for example an allergic reaction to something he might have used during the procedure, even the cleaning solutions and drapes.... but it can also be a viral infection, though I would think it has nothing to do with the skin cancer.

regards,
Leo
