I was recently dx with mpd pv early this year. I am on 05 mg of anagrylide since a month ago, also doing phlebs. My husband had noticed that areas of my face were a yellowish gold color. Made appointment with hem/onc. he said that he couldn't notice it, but his nurse did. The discoloration got more prevelent, went to my regular md and they contacted my hem/onc, she wanted more tests to be ran and wanted the hem/onc to re-check. Since have not heard from hem/onc. He says that it can't possibly be from my meds and doesn't seem to want to look into it any further. Should I be concerned and press the issue or could it just be a simple side effect. Also have severe joint pain and always tired. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello

Sorry to hear you are having these problems. This can be due to jaundice, an accumulation of a pigment called bilirubin in the blood. It may be hard to detect by looking if the levels are not high enough. Not knowing if this is the case or not, the doctors may or may not have done tests looking for it.

I would not think anagrelide could cause it, but try to find out what the blood tests showed.

best regards,
Leo
