PBJ, Thank you so much for your kind words. I am at peace with Mom's loss. I prayed for God to take her that day because she was suffering., and he answered our prayers. I know she is in a better place and now has eternal peace. Cancer is a devasting way to go and torture for everyone involved. One thing though, I was able to grieve through the short duration of the illness and I know my Mom knew how much we all loved her and that we would take care of Dad and each other. I grieved with every labored breath she took and when she finally passed on it was a very peaceful ending for which I am very grateful. We were all there at her bedside to comfort her with love. Like you and so many others that have lived through the passing of a loved one I understand how devasting Cancer is and how it spreads out of control until it causes it's own demise. It's not a club I wanted to belong to but a journey I never would have passed up to be there for my Mom in her time of need. As a family we were with Mom every hour of the day and when she was in the hospital we stayed with her around the clock. The journey of losing Mom brought our family as close together as we could be and I know for that Mom would be very happy.
Warm regards, Carl Cubbedge

Mom's obituary will be in the Monday edition of the Asbury Park Press in New Jersey. |

Dear Carl,
I too am very sorry for your loss. I am not sure how much sincerity can be derived from a total stranger yet my thoughts and prayers for your family. My mom is battling stage IV recurrent NSCLC, going on 2 yrs this coming March. And while we have had some successes I do fear the end will be an ugly, painful one. I truly hope your mom did not suffer long and I hope the thoughts of her being in a much better place bring you and your family peace.
Sincerely,
Michael |
