My father is 53 years old and he has Glioblastoma.
He was urgently operated in August 2004 and he was in hospital until October 2004.
He also had radiation treatment (30 days).
Before the operation in August, the CT showed cancer on the left part of the head.
He was ok in October and November, but in Decemer he started to be very bad (slow talking, very slow moving with pain, sleeply, remember very few things). He went to MRI in February and the picture was very bad. He has again on the same place cancer and also there is new one on the top of brain tree.
Doctors said that it is too high risk to operate cancer on the top of brain tree. Also they are saying that those cancer is more dangerous than cancer on left (up) side of head.
If they operate only left up side, probably the operation will destroy talking center and the result will be almost nothing because other cancer will be still on brain tree.
There is posibility to go on chemo-therapy but I do not know if can help a lot.
Is there any possibility to help my father?
Thank you.

Hi Mario - I don't have any answers for you - but the doctors here will reply soon. Just wanted to touch base and let you know someone cares. I lost my brother at 50 yrs old to a brain tumour that was wrapped all around his head - we believe due to cellular phones - he was the first technical manager for cell phones in the UK 10 yrs ago, and had worked with cellular technology in the British Army before.
So sorry to hear of your father's problems, hugs and prayers are with you.
Liz.

Mario

Thanks for posting. Unfortunately after failing chemotherapy, radiation and surgery the treatments will not be very effective. There are ways to prolong survival, but it is likely that it will not help very much. There are trials that you could look for, there may be new drugs being tried for it.

best regards,
Leo
