Sadly 22 months after being diagnosed my dear dad passed away on Dec 20th 2007.
He spent his last week in hospital after becoming very poorly and mum not being able to look after him at home anymore.
He caught pneumonia and was very dehydrated and we found out the cancer was in his bones as well as his lung.
Dad was desperate not to go into hospital but at the end he didn't put up a fight.
I spent the last week with him and had some lovely private moments with him that i will treasure forever.
Me,mum and dads niece were with him at the end.It was very scary but i am pleased we were there for him.
I miss him dreadfully and still cant believe he is gone.I am keeping busy but i do have many moments where i just cry like a baby for my dad.
Many thanks to you guys for this great forum as i got plenty of advice that got me through the last 22 months.
Take care

jb, I am very sorry about your father's death . I was blessed with the opportunity to be with both of my parents when they died. I know what you mean about having "lovely private moments" . Those are the memories that will eventually remain with you the most.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. _________________ Jim

Jackie,
I'm sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. May God be with you as you begin a new journey of acceptance. It isn't easy and I've got no great advice. Cry when you need to, it is cathartic.
Hugs,

I'm sorry to hear about your father Jackie. Like pbj said, crying is cathartic. My mom passed January 5th. I will be doing something and it might trigger a memory or remind me of my mom, and I cry too.
Treasure the times you had. I know they were special to you. |

jackie,
so so sorry to hear of your father's passing...crying your eyes out really does help to make you feel some relief from time to time...temporarily of course...just hang on to those prescious memories--that is really what counts the most in the end of everything--the love, the memories...take care and God bless. kim _________________ ...keeping the faith in n.c.
