Hi, some of you may know me from the Leukemia and Lymphoma forum or sometimes i will hang in the lounge as well. Admittedly I have not been here much lately. Seems that old adage "when it rains it pours" is apropos right about now. I have been recently diagnosed with SCLC. I am not a smoker however I am not without a history. I did smoke when I was younger and in fact have always been exposed to 2nd hand smoke. No way to know how I got this but having CLL makes one susceptible to tumorous cancers. This is our family's third now. My CLL, my wife last year last a Kidney to Renal cell and in fact is still battling the spread. And of course now this one for me. I have started Cisplatin and Etoposide and will start radiation on Monday for 2 weeks but have been told that will most likely end up being a month. Any insight with respect to the chemo and the radiation would be helpful and appreciated!

Blessings,
Loren

Oh, Loren, I am so very sorry to hear that you now have SCLC Sad. You and your wife have gone through so much. Have they told you anything about specific cell type or staging information yet?

You and your wife continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I've not gotten any particulars just yet. I see my oncologist in the morning and start radiation in the afternoon. Hopefully I will get some more answers then. Thanks for the prayers.

Loren,

I'm very sorry to hear that cancer has come knocking at your door again. This doesn't seem fair and I'm sure you are hurting pretty bad right now.

We'll be here for you when you get more information. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers for good things in your future.
