I somehow feel our oncologists are completely out to lunch.
Anyone feel the same way?
I mean they've prescribed VICODIN, DARVOCET, NAPROCYN, and CELEBRIX to my friend who has cancer.
Each of these has it's own benefits, but it's not helping my friend's pain.
She has bone cancer and complains about the pain being in her bone.
Then I found out about these: FOSAMAX, DIDRONEL, and AREDIA are specifically for bone cancer.
Is the oncologist a complete nitwit?
Shouldn't she be taking FOSAMAX instead of VICODIN? |

They do different things.
Vicodin, Darvocet, Naprocyn and Celebrex are all design to deal with pain.
Fosamax is a biphosphonate, which is designed to prevent bone disintegrating.
Pain is a very difficult thing to control as it is so subjective. It is worth your friend considering a course of acupuncture which has been effective in some cases of persistent pain. |

I think this is dangerous advice. Many of these drugs become addictive, and there may be other ways of managing pain. |

| Norco is the best drug for bone pain I take 325/10 360 pills a month and I hardly make it I always run out I take them all the time they make the pain go away to the point that I feel great, But when you run out you go through severe withdrawel.. and thats more painful than the cancer sometimes... |
