Greetings,
My name is Richard. My wife was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer back in December and 20-weeks pregnant with our daughter at the time. She has been in the ICU for the past 3-months, but just recently was given the green light to go to rehab to prepare to head home. Dear God she has come a LONG way!
Anyway, needless to say, I have become even more interested in doing what I can to help with the "cure". In fact, I left cancer research to teach science and computer science in a high school. But these three months have re-energized my interest in returning to research in some capacity.
Talk too much. Happy to be here!

Jim,
I hope and pray that I am useful/helpful somehow.
I have some experience in pathogenic and leukemia research. Believe me when I say that it was a frightening experience watching my wife's health literally deteriorate over night. I must have spent as much time with her in the ICU as I did at home during the first 2 months of it all.
It was also a incredible experience watching the clinical aspect of cancer first hand. I learned a lot! I hope that I can share some of what I have learned here.
Thank you.
