Sam.
You are not alone.
my deepest sympathies to you and your family
my dear wife jean died on the 14th of February aged 55 after fighting this dreadful disease for 14 months
her symptoms where very similar to your dads but it looks like he was diagnosed very late,
although jean was finished off by a host of nasty complications
I know how hard it is for you ..I still cant believe she is gone
it is a sad reality of this disease that there is virtually no hope, as for doing something to help I will be giving blood for as long as I am able.
the amount of blood that was used for jean and her fellow patients was unbelievable
I think raising awareness of this disease is a great idea and something well worth aiming for ...but I think there is no political will to do anything about it, politicians will spend a billion pounds of public money on trident this year and every year for the foreseeable future
yet cancer research is dependant on public donations

I have heard it said that as long as you are in someone's thoughts your sprit will never die
I like the sound of that. I am sure your dad and my jean will be around for a long time

TAKE IT EASY SAM .......GOD BLESS

Thank you for your kind words Peter and may I offer my condolonces to you also.
I still can't quite believe I refer to my Father in the past tense. It's almost inconcievable that he has gone and I guess you must feel the same way about your wife, Jean.
I have asked to be sent details on the 10k London run which is taking place on the 6th July. My Dad would have been 70 on the 15th July and that was the date he was aiming for. He never made it of course.
I will try and raise some sponsorship money for my run and although it may not be a vast sum, at least it will be something towards helping develop research in the future.
Hopefully my Dad will be looking down on me having a good old laugh because I never was much of a runner!

Laughing
