Thank you for the chance to ask a question. I found a swollen mass under my right arm pit today. It is not painful/sensitive to touch at this time but is uncomfortable due to its size. I noticed a slight swelling a few weeks ago but discounted is as fat. Today, I noticed it is much larger and uncomfortable. I have never had such a problem in the past. I am 43 yrs. old, healthy but somewhat overweight. I am concerned that it might be something serious as anyone would. I will not have medical insurance until May 1st, 40 days from now. If I am examined by my physician and diagnosed prior to the enrollment date of my insurance, it could be considered pre-existing and treatment might not be covered. As a single parent and student, I am unable to cover these expenses. I am concerned that if I wait the 40 days, I could be jeopordizing my health. Please advise on what you think about waiting the forty days and the significance it might have on my condition. I could schedule the appointment tomorrow for May 1st.

Dear JD,
I think you need to seek medical attention since that may jeopardize your health. Although this type of symptoms can be cause by many conditions, one cannot be too careful about it. Unfortunately, we cannot tell you what the diagnosis is and what to do next, especially when you have such financial difficulties. However, nothing is more important than our health, isn?t it?
