Hey new to the forum, just kinda curious about the whole cancer issure, and just wanted to ask a few questions and offer a few answers and support etc.
I have already made some posts and I just wanted to introduce myself and show/ tell my story.
Age 14 I contracted malignant melanoma, had to go in for a minor operation, they just cut the mole, situated on my leg, off under local anesthetic. They sent it off for tests, found out that it was malignant melanoma, I also found out that it was the worst type of skin cancer, I also know that the cancer,(sorry I dont really know what these figures mean) was .75mm and had to grow another .25mm to beable to spread. great I thought, but I did not worry one bit, which is extremely suprising when I look back on my life now. So i had to go into hospital for a few days get a skin graph that was taken from right thigh and put on left leg, they used this new mesh method so not alot of skin had to be removed, to be replaced. Then I got sent home and had to sit still for 2 weeks to try to repair the skin graph to its full extent. However I went bk to the hospital after 2 weeks and they took off the bandaging and gauze, seems that I had contracted 2 infections. Staphylococcus and Streptococcus, both flesh eating bacteria. Over the Period of 2 weeks they had destroyed the skin graph leaving the oringinal opening, about 5 cm in diameter and 2-3 cm deep, in my leg, honestly the worst image I have ever seen, but I am sure that most people on this forum have seen/ known about worse. Anyway when I saw this, it was the only time that i directly complained about the cancer, and rather harshly I said 'what have they done to my leg, they have ruined my life' obviously talking about the doctors that had so warmly greeted me to the hospital and taken care of me for 2 months in total. Of corse it wasnt their fault, it was more likely my fault but no one is sure what the cause was. So I had to get another skin graph, resulting in 2 more weeks in the ward. This turned out much better, as I was put on a vac machine, which automatically cleaned the wound. The only problem with this is that their was a vacum on my hairy legs, and this had to come off, I'm sure that you can see that alot of swearing followed, luckily I was the only one in the ward at that time. lol
So yeah this then healed over, I think it was about 50% of the graph was and still is fully in tact, but the other half had interenal bleeding which was nothing at this stage and eventually it healed resoably ok. Of corse there is still a large wound but It is ok now.
Of corse what followed after physically everythin was ok, was loads of mental breakdowns, but these only occured at school with people that I normally clash heads with. Of corse just before the mental breakdowns, my head would blank and I wouldn't think what i was doing and just lashed out at whoever had annoyed me. Of corse I didn't just get pissed off for no reason, it is just that the situation became exagerated, mainly due to me.
But I think my life is finally getting back on track after 2 years I still go to check ups every 3 months, but now I have to deal with normal problems such a school and girls. Which are alot lot easier. lol.

Well thats about it and anyone who reads this / replies I thank in advance for listening and sorry for the long message, I get carried away with myself. Smile
