Where do I go to post general questions.

First is regarding the link to my story in my signature box. How do I make it a link. It seems you all have links and everything doesn't allow html. I am confused, again? I should use 'confused' for a user name. 2nd good one I have found since this cancer trip. Laughing

My 2nd questions I tried to avoid asking but I am getting tired of logging back in. Why do I have to keep logging in. I mean when I am reading and writing. Don't tell me so I learn my password. Smile

I know I did tell Jim before that I was familiar with message boards like this one and I really like them BUT this one is not fully functionable. I tried to bold and got no link and no html.

I finally got the story up. Late again. Will try to get back earlier. I am just not on a regular schedule even for me. Thanks,

Disregard question about link as it is okay now. Thanks,

Hi Mary,

Yes, the bold, italic, underline, and quote features don't work on this board. I've never understood why. Maybe Jim can enlighten us?

Mary, thanks for asking these questions:

Q1: First is regarding the link to my story in my signature box. How do I make it a link. It seems you all have links and everything doesn't allow html. I am confused, again? I should use 'confused' for a user name. 2nd good one I have found since this cancer trip.

A1: html and the bbCodes are disabled on this forum. There was abuse of these in the past and the owner disabled them. I see that the link to your story already works so you must have figured that one out. But for those who still do not know, the secret is just to place the URL for the page you want. For example, in order to link to this topic, I would enter http://cancerforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=9080 . No html or bbCode required but be sure to leave a space before and after the address. Notice that I left a space after the "9080" but before the period. If I had not done that, the computer would thing the period was part of the address and therefore the link would not work.

Q2: My 2nd questions I tried to avoid asking but I am getting tired of logging back in. Why do I have to keep logging in. I mean when I am reading and writing. Don't tell me so I learn my password.

A2: I have no idea why you are getting logged off all the time. I do know that there is an overall "time out" on the forum. If you are not actively doing something on the forum, it will log you off automatically.

Q3:I know I did tell Jim before that I was familiar with message boards like this one and I really like them BUT this one is not fully functionable. I tried to bold and got no link and no html.

A3: The bbCodes located above the Post window are intentionally disabled as is html. See A1 Wink

By the way, most of this information can be found in our FAQ section...

Okay Jim, guilty as charged for not reading the FAQ myself. I thought I had covered all my "reading" bases. Sorry! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Thanks Jim for the reply. I think I had a period in the way on my link. I only got it to work by accident. I changed something. No biggy on the log in. I will watch closer. I thought I checked FAQ and must have missed it. I just checked topics of interest.

Jim, It all sounds good to me. BTW, I read a lot of your Story/blog. I hope I can soon read it all. Sorry to hear you are having problems. Boy, I related to some things. I only had a Siberan Husky for short time in the 60's but that is my favorite dog. Too hot here for them. I do live in Arizona which you mention.

I couldn't get thru all this without a sense of humor. Actually mine may be slipping lately. I got a kick out of reading about your stuttering and in church.

Someone asked you: QUOTE:
"There may be something that could help. Does the stuttering get worse when you are around people? If so, maybe an anti-anxiety pill may help you with some of your symptoms."

You responded: QUOTE:
"I notice it more when I am around people because I try to avoid talking to myself "

I thought that was hilarious. But I really shouldn't because I do talk to myself.

Thanks agian.
