Hi tashablakes. I am very sorry about your husband's cancer. I created a new topic for you and moved it to the melanoma forum rather than leaving it on the lung cancer forum because you will received more helpful information here.

I have never had skin cancer of any kind so I know very little about it. However, I do hear your pain. In 1992, on my son's 3rd birthday, I found out that I had a primary brain cancer.

What kind of treatment options is your husband's medical team offering to him?

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey Tasha

You hang in there.

I know when I was first diagnosed my wife was also very emotional. It's understandable.

When I found out I had cancer, in a strange way, I felt like I was letting my family down. Immediately worrying about my wife and 2 kids. How would they get on without me?

Since day one I've worried more about my family than myself, to the point of feeling guilty.

Your husband needs you to be strong and understanding.

Best thing to do is talk with him. Tell him your thoughts and let him tell you his.

Get it all out in the open. Sometimes a good cry relieves a butt load of stress and anxiety.

Thinking of you and your family,
Tony

Hi tashablakes. I am so sorry for what you are going through. Melanoma is frightening and unpredictable. My father just battled melanoma and I was my family's source of information. It's very hard to find any one place to get all the facts and information that you need. I found the melanoma international foundation (type that in on google) to be immensely helpful. Catherine Poole who runs it is very knowledgeable and answers the 800 number. If she doesn't pick up, she is very responsive and will call you back. One of the hardest parts was navigating options and doing what is best given the seemingly impossible circumstances. Remember, hope is a powerful emotion and melanoma is one of the only cancers that can spontaneously regress and go into remission. My heart is with you.
