Hi - this is my first post so please forgive me if i dont get this across right - here goes -

Just recently i was diagnosed with a condition called - neuromyatonia - this is an immune problem that also affects the nervous system. As part of the investigation into this problem i had a CT scan on my chest to look for a Thymoma(tumour) which can cause the symptoms of neuromyatonia. The scan results showed no sign of the Thymoma but showed enlarged Lymph Nodes and also a 'shadow'.
I saw my GP on Thursday who said if it was anything to worry about they would have me in hospital straight away and so not to worry. He phoned me back on Monday to say that i had to go into hospital to see a specialist within the next two weeks. The tuesday i had a phone call from the hospital to say i would be seen next week.
So from my doctor saying there was nothing to worry about - within the next 2(working) days i was on my way to see a specialist.
My doctor had also said that to rush it through i was going to be referred to as a cancer patient but again he said not to worry that was just a way to rush it through.

Sorry if this post has gone on abit but i am so mixed up at the moment i just dont know what to do.

I feel in limbo for the next week waiting to get more news.

Its the not knowing thats driving me crazy - can anyone offer any advice?

Darren, I really am sorry about your current health concerns. Waiting can be very hard... especially waiting to hear if you have cancer. What type of specialist where you referred too? An Oncologist or Hematologist?

My advice is to take time to write down all of the questions that you might even potentially have. Since this is a cancer forum, I will give you some suggestions about questions to ask if it is cancer:

1. The specific type of cancer
2. The grade or stage of the cancer
3. Other tests they need to do
4. Treatment options available to you

They may not be able to answer all of these without further tests, but these are the basic questions.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
