Thanks -I'll let you know.
it was my aunt..her first lesion was on her calf. It then metastasized everywhere over a couple of years-skin, lungs, liver, spleen etc. The splenectomy was only done as a palliative surgery to give her relief from the shortness of breath.
There's been no sign of it for over 25 yrs now.

Dang, that's crazy.

Sorry for the questions but this is very intriguing to say the least, lol!

So, she had her spleen removed, then did no more treatments of any kind, and it's been 25 years? No chemo, IL2, radiation etc.?? Just the Chemo for a year before the surgery?

Does her ct-scans show NED or stable tumors?

that's okay sp, it's an intriguing story. She had her treatments at a large teaching hospital and everytime she went for follow-up (5 yrs after spleen removed) all the residents were trotted into her room to hear her story.
All that I remember was that several cutaneous lesions on her palms(metastatic nodules) regressed and went away without requiring excision. I don't know specifics about scan results other than knowing that her liver and chest ct's normalized. She has normal scans today despite having breast cancer. She had no treatments after her spleen was removed- she was palliative and treatments had stopped three months+ prior to the surgery.
Obviously not common (spontaneous regression) but happened to my family member.. rt

My mother suffered from skin cancer for years. After many treatments she got re-diagnosed with cancer again. She eventually got introduced to a technology called glyconutrients. 4 months later her cancer was gone. I would definitely do some research on glyconutrients, they are extremely effective when it comes to allowing the body fight something such as cancer.

Update:

Sodapop feels like his Blood Counts took a big crash in the last few days. I'm looking forward to another Blood Transfusion, it's like part of the routine now, Razz . Hopefully, I get blood from Lance Armstrong aka " the ultimate survivor and athlete", in my opinion! Very Happy

Sodapop, I am so sorry that your blood count seems to have crashed. My counts are only borderline. They are within the "normal" range but on the low side. It has been this way since early on in my chemotherapy. I too had to have many transfusions Razz.

Hope you get to feeling stronger soon.

Thanks, Brainman!

I'm used to the transfusions and actually like them. They really make me feel a lot better. The nurses actually say that they can see my face changing back to normal color during the transfusions, lmao.

What bothers me the most is my platelet levels being to low. That's what holds my treatment up and makes me come back the next week. I guess they don't do transfusions for that just to receive Chemo. They like the body to recover the platelets on it's own.

I didn't know you were still taking Chemo. I though you were done for some reason and just living on the edge for now, enjoying life Cool

NO sodabob, the last chemo I had with back in 2005 prior to surgery Very Happy. My blood levels have been low since 1993 when I took my original chemo.

Ok, so I went for my next chemo dose last week and my blood levels were still to low, even after the transfusion the week before. The Dr. thinks this means it's time for Sodapop to have a break from all this crap. I had a total of 11 doses of Taxol and 11 of Carboplatin.

My last set of CT's and MRI's came back very good, so the Dr. wants to follow me with the scans for now and see how I do off the Chemo. It kind of scares me but I think I will do well. I'm hoping we can push them to every 3 months or longer, this way I get to go back to my homeland in California and just fly out for my appointments, Laughing

Although nervous about this, I'm also excited.

Does anybody have any experience with there ears ringing????? Mine have been ringing off and on lately. They don't hurt but it's annoying. The Dr. doesn't no if it's from the WBRT, the Chemo, or both.

That's my update for now. Let me know what you guys think about all this taking a break and the ear ringing stuff. I wanted to keep going with the chemo because it was working so well but the Dr. said no go on that for now. Confused

Not sure about the riinging in the ears... Could it be wine and drugs combined i wonder Wink

Wine and prescription drugs are a part of my life for now, Laughing , and it seems to be working out for me. Does it cause ear ringing, I hope not, lol! The ringing is getting better but it still happens. I'm feeling much better though having been off Chemo for a few months now.

I head back to the Dr. next week for CT Scans. I guess the scans will tell the story of what happens next. AHhh, the waiting game, don't we all love that?

For some reason, in the mornings usually, I get a sick feeling and it makes me cough and gag a little. I don't throw up but sometimes I spit up some white stuff or some stomach acid.

QUESTION? Can this minor stomach sickness that doesn't happen every day be caused just by the tumors being absorbed into the body????? My scans do show a big tumor that is dying off, it's on the liver.

Thanks all my supporters! I will continue to beat these aliens into an oblivion!
