How long has everyone with stage 4 or a loved one lived?

Any in remission?

Sasha,

Survival at stage IV can be short or a couple of years. It really all depends on the tumor burden, sub-type, cell differentiation, overall health, and how well someone responds to chemotherapy/radiation. So many factors come into play that nobody can give you the answers, but you asked for other's experience. There is a very small 1-2% of people who can beat stage IV and we always thought, "why not my husband?" That was our approach.

He lived 2 1/2 years with Stage IV.

Best of luck to your Dad.

How is she doing and what all does she have wrong?

I guess it has been 2 months for my dad since this all started.

My Dad is going on 9 months with Stage IV that presented with a few spots in the chest and lesions to the brain. At this point the spots on the brain are stable, the chest tumor was reduced during the first chemo. On the last scan it increased in size slightly so he will be starting a second round of radiation and chemo soon.

Sasha; I don't know the answer to your question. I am really new to all of this. I have read a lot of postings by people with lung cancer. Since my husband was staged 3B, I read a lot of IV and 3's. I was surprised at the length of time some lived or are still living.

It is often really difficult with diseases like this to judge too much by others. Everyone can be so different. We can gain hope knowing what 'could be possible'.

I don't know your story yet. Best of luck to you.

Sasha -
Unfortunately my mom took a hard fall and broke her hip and spine.....so she is not doing good right now..
However - was doing "perfectly fine" (in her words) until then. Gardening, visiting with friends, no pain and was actually at a friends house at the beach when it happened...
She just had been sleeping a little more.....and some other minor syptoms..
