Hi Menachem,
Pleased to hear you are starting your treatments, but not so happy to hear you are experiencing dizziness. I looked back on my notes and find that this does not appear to be a sympton of radiation although fatique is. I personally did not experiece dizziness during my 59 treatments so would suggest you discuss this with your Doctor.
I recently had a ditigital (finger twirl) Embarassed

exam and the Doctor said it feels good. I reminded him that I did not share his sentiments! LOL. They cant do my PSA for another 4 months after treatments since it would not be an accurate reading.
I am sure they can correct this condition with medication.

Dizziness can be caused by hormone therapy. Here is a list of common symptoms:

* hot flashes
* burning, itching, redness, and swelling at the injection site
* blurred vision
* dizziness and headaches
* nausea and vomiting and constipation
* gynecomastia (swelling or tenderness and pain of the breasts)
* swelling or feet and lower legs
* trouble sleeping
* decreased size of testicles
* inability to maintain an erection satisfactory for intercourse
* decrease in interest in sex

There are side effects beyond those listed here that may occur with hormone therapy. Patients should pay attention to their bodies and note any changes they may want to report to a doctor. Side effects often occur with the benefits or prostate cancer hormone therapy. Side effects associated with hormone therapy may go away on their own as the body readjusts to the new agents.

Hi Beth,

Thank you for trying to be helpful.
Your list is familiar- I am apparently slowly working my way through all of the symptoms, and may even be inventing some new ones...

The mild dizziness was felt immediately after the radiation treatment, and continued for hours, hut not on days when I don't have treatment. It was bothersome the first week, but less now...

Hi Dave,

Sorry for not keeping in touch more, but have not been feeling well (emotionally)...
14 days into radiation (26 to go...) and I find out that the head radiologist here has been giving me a narrow beam only to the prostate, instead of the wider beam including the lymph nodes which the oncologist ordered- this after I worried for weeks about the decision, and finally decided to go with the oncologist for a better chance at longevity, instead of worrying about the radiologist's threats of collateral damage... The radiologist still protests that I am making a big mistake, but promises to add the wider beam from now on. I do not trust him.
Outside of that, am having increasing problems with both exits from the lower digestive tract, and steadily increasing hot flashes, and tiredness, and assorted aches that are probably psycho-somatic, etc...
Have been sticking to a good diet, and exercising 3 times a week- hope I can keep it up.
Sorry for the negative report- good to hear that you are doing well.

Hi Menchem,
Sorry to hear about the confusion in your treatments, but with the number of sessions left, the broad treatment should still be effective.
I had difficulty urinating and was prescribed Flomax (tamsulosin) and that quickly rectified that problem. As a matter of interst I am also taking cayenne pepper capsules and, if interested, you might want to read the post concerning this treatment, on this forum. Thought I would have nothing to lose in trying this since the costs of the capsules are minimal.
At any rate Menachem, I do sincerly hope that you will start to feel better once your body adjusts to the foreign invasion of radiation. God Bless!

Menachem, I am also very sorry. I do know about how cancer can have an impact on a person's emotions. For me, it is one of the biggest impacts on my daily life... especially making such hard decisions.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
