I am a 33 yr old female, and I very anxious and confussed. In may of 2005 They found a cancerous tumor enveloping my left kidney - It's a mircle we found it I just thought I had a unrinary Infection because I had slight amount of blood in unrine, luckly did CT scan to check for stones and found tumor. Any way they remove left kidney and 9.5cm Renal Cell carcinioma My 31, 05. It had spread into fatty tissue around kidney but they got it all. Since then I have had symptoms similar to CFs and Fibromalgia, but it's not either one - the Dr.'s dont' have a clue. In Feb. 2008 I had check up blood work and CT scans because of the cancer, Dr. told me all looked good and we would check again in 9 months. However when I read the Radiology Report it said that there is a 5mm non-calcified nodule in upper left posterier lung! When I called my oncologist back to see what was going on he said since it is non-calcified it is nothing to worry about that it is proably just the way my body is< but that's why he wanted to recheck in 9mon. instead of 1yr. Ok- still confused but Ok. Then I went to Mayo in Az to try and figure out other stuff going on and when they saw report several Dr.'s told me no- way I should wait 9 months to be recheck that calcified means it's beginin and non-calcified means they don't know what the heck it is. Then last week my urologist (who remove kidney) got report from Mayo and called out of the blue to make sure that Oncologist was going to follow-up on lung nodule. I had a PET scan done in aug 07 I think It was for sure early fall and this nodule didn't shw up there or on Chest X-ray's I had in NOv. 07. Then on a different sight someone sugested my symptoms could be Eaton-Lambert (which is realted to lung cancer and from what I understand can apper months - years before the cancer)and they didn't even know about the lung nodule!! Also when I first meet with the oncologist after having tumor removed he said that my type of cancer tends to come back inthe lungs if it comes back1 Should I be concerned? I don't know what to think or what to do from here. Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

Hi blw. I am very sorry about your cancer and continued health problems. I am not sure how concerned you "should" be but it is obvious that you are concerned and confused about the different opinions you are receiving. The good new is that the PET scan came back clear. Normally, if a cancer is detectable on an x-ray or CAT scan, it will shine brightly on a PET scan. You could get some additional peace of mind by having that area biopsied. Nevertheless, the "waite and see" approach is also valid... although maybe not 9 months!

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.
