I just had a Cat Scan on December 22, 2004, for a lump on or near rt. Parotid Gland. I have not received results back yet due to the holidays and there is no sense of urgency, just caution. However, the lump is approximately 2 cm+at surface and since the original exam I have found another lump or two near my carotid artery same side. I have also noticed a swelling or lump at my left ankle. Of course this is on my mind so I am trying not to make too much of it until the Cat results are in. The question is, should I bring these other areas to the attention of my doctor? She immediately scheduled the CAT Scan when she saw the jaw lump, without ever touching my face. Will the Cat provide enough information without my mentioning the other sites? Please advise. I am the type of patient who had rather be taken seriously, rather than run to my doctor with every minor complaint. Thanks for your time.

Merianne,

Thanks for posting. You should definitelly point out what other lumps or nodules you have. You should also have a complete physical exam of all the known lymphnode areas of the body: neck, underarm, groin areas at the very least.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

best regards,
Leo
