My sister's children have been told that she has lung cancer and she seems to have perked up a bit since her medication has been changed and she was suffering from terrible constipation and nausea.

She is having three more does of radiotherapy this week and I hope things improve for her.

I am going to see in her two weeks and stay for the weekend.

For some reason it has all made me feel a bit tearful and down, is this normal.

Yes, Sam, it is normal. Do you have a support system in place for yourself? It is always helpful to talk to someone about what you are going thru.

Kristi gave the answer -- yes, quite normal.

God bless you Sam as you look forward to a visit with your sister. This will come to mean so much to you as time goes by. I'm glad to hear she is feeling a little bit better and glad that the children are now aware what is going on with her. I remember that nightmare and my kids were young adults.

God go with you friend.

Hi, Sam - I am so relieved that the children have been told. That is a great step forward.

Yes, your reaction is totally normal. As Kirsti says, you need support too.

Keep in touch, and keep well yourself.

Sam, I echo everything that the others have said to you. Cancer can be so hard on a family. It really does take the support of a loving and supportive family to make it through.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
