I'm having an x-ray done tomorrow to look for lung cancer. I am wondering what if there is anything i can ask the person doing the x-ray imaging to do to help better determine if i have cancer or not. ie like a technique or something. they are going to fax the results to my doctor.

thank you

They are not in a position to do this. It is their job to get good clear x-rays and interpret what is seen. If there is any doubt about what the x-rays show, your doctor may send you for a scan.

Good luck with the x-rays.

Like Vee, I do not think there is anything you can suggest to the technician to help you get a better x-ray. If there is any special position you need to be in, your doctor will have that in his orders. Keep us informed.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

If something shows up on the x-ray, your doctor should order a CT scan. A CT scan will show more if there is a mass in your lungs. Your doctor will give you the results not the person doing the x-rays or scan.
