Hello everyone, my name is Elijah, and I am an 8th grader. Recently when browsing the web, I google searched cancer forums, whereupon this site popped up, and I took a look at it. After reading through, I signed up for an account and as of today I have been approved. My father was diagnosed March 28th, 2008 with a still undetermined stage cancer (the oncologists say its somewhere between stage II and stage III) NHL or non-hodgkins lymphoma, of which we later found out started as one type of NHL and stayed dormant for as long as several years, before transforming into the highly aggressive and rare form of NHL Burkitt's Lymphoma. Interestingly enough, to our awe, there have been three recorded cases of Burkitt's in the city I live in, and seeing as Burkitt's is a cancer that affects no more then a few hundred people each year in the U.S. , that is quite interesting. Anyway, I'm glad I found this nice online community, and hopefully it's members can provide me with some additional support, and perhaps I can return the favor. And with that all said, I think I will go ahead and write the story of what my family is going through.
Thanks for accepting me into this community,
Elijah |

Welcome to the forum Elijah. You might be our youngest member . Sorry to hear about your father's cancer. I hope this forum is a good source of support and information to you. As a minor, you should always show your parents any information you receive from our members.
Take care. _________________ Jim
