Hi everyone! Very Happy

I'm Redrose, F/57/Post menopausal & very happy to find this forum. THANK YOU Leo!

Last Thursday I went for my regular, yearly check-up with pap test, etc. As Dr. was doing pelvic exam she noted "fullness" on my right side & asked if I ever felt bloated. I didn't quite know how to respond & asked her why she asked, did she feel bloating inside me (hahaha). She said she felt something she shouldn't be feeling & set an appointment for me to have a Pelvic Ultra Sound. She continued to say that I shouldn't lose sleep over anything ---(easy to say)--- that perhaps it was unpassed stool in my colon. OK, if she thinks it is stool in colon why wouldn't she suggest a followup visit in a few days AFTER stool was passed to see if she felt same "fullness"?

U/S appointment is Oct. 28th --- 10 long days away. Needless to say, I have much, much anxiety about the big C........I cannot sleep, cannot concentrate, a real worrywart, etc. I lost my sister (aged 53) in 2001 --- internal squamous cell cancer throughout her abdominal cavity found in a late stage --- so I have these visions of becoming as ill as she was.

I have no real questions, I'm aware that there are no answers until after the results of the test are in. However, how does one cope with this horrible waiting before testing?

Hi RedRose

Thanks for posting ! As you said, this is probably nothing, but doctors can not be certain that this is nothing, that's why they're doing the US. The abdominal exam can be difficult, and feeling "fullness" may be just stool, gas etc. So try not to worry too much, and get the US next week.

regards,
Leo
