Hello, I am a 22 year old student (without health insurance I should add) who had a melanoma two years ago. I am posting, trying to ease my mind, because I have been very stressed lately. I have a swollen lymph node under my left arm pit, that is a little bit tender. It has been there for a very long time, the first time I remember seeing it was maybe 9 months to a year ago. It has not been increasing in size (that I have noticed) and it is moveable and not hard. I have already been to the doctor, and she referred me to a specialist and I also made an appointment with my normal dermatologist. The thing is, I had an appointment with my dermatologist about a month or two ago, and everything was normal, and I have been keeping a close watch on my skin as well. Everything seems to be in the ordinary, I have no physical symptoms, other than slight tenderness where the lymph node is (which could be due to my touching it all the time which I know I am supposed to try and avoid). I am just looking for a little reassurance, or anyone who has been in this situation. I am hoping that it is not a sign of melanoma, that has gone unnoticed (and maybe being a little bit of a worry wart). Anyways, thank you to anyone who takes the time to respond!
Lizzie
p.s. i forgot to mention that my melanoma from two years ago was very shallow and they told me it was removed completely with the surgury

Worry Warts live. So don't feel bad about being a wart- Us warts need to stick together...
You've done the right thing, Your getting it looked at, you've been looking and checking things out all by yourself and being wary. This is good. This also can make you feel, and see things that are not there. we worry warts tend to invent sore spots- i know.
But when it comes down to it, better to know, then to not. Worry will inflame and make the spot sorer and more swallon as you touch it. Try to relax a little, you have appointments, and you are clear from last surgery.
Let us know how you go- and chin up.

Thank you very much for your reply! I am anxiously awaiting my appointment with the doctor. Sometimes the internet can be a bit of a curse in that looking up symptoms can stress you out I just got married this summer, so the thought of the melanoma coming back is a bit of a weight on my chest! But thank you for your post, and it really did help me calm down a bit
