A therapeutic vaccine to treat prostate cancer appears safe and may be effective, according to the results of an early trial.

That's excellent news! If this vaccine comes through, this could save/extend thousands of lives. Thanks for posting this Razz .

P.S.--- you might wanna have this post moved to the Cancer News section because it relates to a development/treatment regarding cancer. I dunno.

Great article! It is not the usual hype about a "cure" and gives both sides of the story. I for one, tend to lean toward the side of Dr. Roth in being skeptical at this point. Up to this point, this vaccine has only resulted in a decrease in PSA. Hopefully, with time, they will be able to show that it actually kills the cancer cells. But just a decrease in PSA does not mean that the cancer cells are dying. Let us all hope that this vaccine does work.

BN ImmunoTherapeutics has initiated Phase I/II clinical studies with its therapeutic vaccine candidate against prostate cancer.
