Alright everyone, basically i've been giving this website from a friend of mine who suggested it.

Little bit about myself, im 16 had a few problems in the last few years but was ok until about 8 weeks ago i had blood tests and the doctor said he's 99% sure i've got a pituatury adenoma, i have every symptom and im still trying to get myself together, i thought this would be a good place to post, has anyone had this and what's it like?

I have an appointment on tuesday with the consultant so shall find out more then hopefully:)

Thanks alot everybody for any post contributed.

James

Hello James

I was hoping you would get a reply from someone with more knowledge on this subject. Unfortunately, our GURU - jim (Brainman) is away at the mo & he's a smart man with a wealth of information to share. What he doesn't know about brain tumours he will find out for you.

Welcome to the forum. It is unfortunate that your illness brings us together. I'm sorry you are having to deal with these medical issues at such a young age. I feel for you & your family.

I don't know anything about Pituatary Adenomas! I was fairly certain though that a brain tumour could not be 100% diagnosed until a biopsy was done on the growth? I haven't heard of a definitive diagnosis being done just with blood/pathology? For your Dr to say 99% for sure seems fairly definitive to me?

What do you know about Pituatary Adenoma? Perhaps you could enlighten us here further with more of your story. What happened to you leading up to your diagnosis?

I will be thinking of you today especially with your appt with the consultant. Give us an update once you know more.

My prayers & thoughts are with you.

Cheers, Angie.

Hello again, well yeah that's what i thought, basically every blood test under the sun was done, cancelling every other illness/possibility it could be. So the doctor came back with the last set of results says that the pituitary gland isn't working as it should be and he's 99% sure that its a pituitary adenoma, he's seen alot of these situtations before he said and it's always come down to a pituitary adenoma. So obviously that's what everyone thinks it is. I'll be fine, there's always someone worse off out there:)

If that makes sense..
